President

Mark Pierz is the President of Southwest Expedited, where he leads the company’s growth in specialized and military freight transportation. Drawing on a background in law enforcement and years of leadership in logistics and international business, Mark is committed to building a company defined by precision, integrity, and innovation.

Mark’s leadership philosophy centers on empowering teams, fostering strong partnerships, and driving continuous improvement in operations and service.

Outside of work, Mark is a licensed pilot who enjoys traveling, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.

Scot Snyder

Scot Snyder

Director of Government Services

Scot Snyder is the Director of Government Services at Southwest Expedited, where as a business development leader, he focuses on building a high-performing organization for both commercial and government clients. Scot is a seasoned logistics professional with over three decades of experience in military service, government contracting, and freight brokerage. He has held various roles, including Transportation NCO, Military Freight Operations Broker, and Director of Government Logistics. His expertise includes LTL freight, intermodal, government logistics, and defense-related logistics contracts, particularly with the U.S. Department of Defense. Scot deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2002, managing logistics, rail, commercial heavy haul, and transportation software.

As a leader, Scot has thrived in high-stakes environments, focusing on operational efficiency, team development, and strategic partnerships. His leadership style blends innovation with a results-driven approach, fostering environments where both individual and team growth thrive. Scot has also played a key role in transitioning logistics operations for military contracts and supporting veteran hiring initiatives within the logistics sector.

Scot values family time with his high school sweetheart, three children, and six grandchildren. He is set to graduate with his MS in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the University of San Diego in 2026 and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. Passionate about supporting veteran initiatives, Scot is dedicated to helping veterans transition into successful logistics careers.
